Yesterday I went to Windsor to have tea with the queen. Unfortunately she had to cancel last minute so I met up with my Great Aunty Betty and Great Uncle Johnny instead.
There they are with Mum.
Uncle Johnny is holding a bag of vegetables from his allotment. He always brings some for us every time we see them. We got to have the yummiest dinner using them in shepherds'’ pie.
We walked along the ‘Long Walk’ that leads up to the main entrance of the Castle.
There is a monument of a horse at one end.
And the castle at the other.
It really is a long walk. We didn’t go all the way up to the monument though.
It’s lovely walking towards this.
Like being a Princess. Shame they didn’t let me in.
Windsor is such a pretty town. But you do see some odd things.
Like this wonky house.
If anything my poor photography skills are making this seem straighter than it really is. It should be falling down!
Also there is something the matter here….
Perhaps the painter was colour-blind?
I did read what it really was. Something to do with King George inventing Airmail. Or something like that.
We had a yummy fish and chips lunch before taking a boat ride along the River Thames.
We made friends with some swans (although they quickly ditched us when they realised we didn’t have any bread for them).
I found my future holiday home.
(I really want to go away on a narrow boat, I imagine it to be so much fun. This may have something to do with watching Rosie and Jim as a kid)
We ventured in to what appeared to be Windsor Jungle.
Uncle Johnny kept a lookout for crocodiles.
We made it out okay
And saw lovely views of Windsor Wheel.
And Windsor Castle.
I do love a good day trip :)

Haha! I've been to Windsor and and had lunch at the crooked house!!! It's so fun to see the place from a different set of eyes! I have a blog post about it too!
Haha, I hate when she cancels last minute like that ;) Great pictures, and looks like you had a great day all together!
Stopped over from FTLOB, have a great weekend wandering!

Eee! Love love the pictures! :D
That looks like it was a wonderful time from the scenery, the vegetable, and such a wonderful character as Uncle Johnny seems to be :) I miss times like that with my family since moving to Japan, they were always some of the best :)
That looks like a lovely day!
I went to Windsor late last year, but unfortunately it was on a tour so we saw the castle but not much of the town. I really enjoyed it though, and would definitely go back! :)
What a lovely photo journey to Windsor Castle!! It is the stuff of fairy tales and I enjoyed it immensely!!
