It turns out I did do something fun.

It just seems so long ago already I forgot.

Ryan had his birthday on the 19th January. So I went down to visit Wales (and him) for the weekend.

We had the most amazing Thai meal with his family. We had a set menu so we got loads of things. There were platters of starters and I think 6 mains. That didn’t mean we had 6 main meals each like I initially thought –they were to share. I tried everything and then managed to wangle my own personal bowl of chicken curry :D. There was another bowl as well that didn’t get finished so I like to think no one minded/noticed. I was super happy about it though and felt like quite the sneak!

We even got given hot towels to wipe our hands- like on Singapore airlines (the best part of flying). They made me happy :D.

Then on Saturday we stayed in a posh hotel in Cardiff that Ryan’s parents had got us for his birthday. It was super posh, there was a spa and everything. It was quite the treat. We then met Ryan’s friends for dinner at Prezzo (Yay for Tesco vouchers) and then had multiple 2 for 1 cocktails. I’m a big fan of 2 for 1 as they do not exist in Scotland. Now if I see one I just have to have it as I don’t know when my next opportunity will be! I drank tequila sunrises which remind me of Australia and my fave Sayo! Yummiest drink ever.

We’ve clearly had a few…

Sunday we swam and jacuzzied in the spa before I had to head home to Edinburgh. It was a super lovely weekend though :D.

Last weekend was spent visiting my Nan in North Wales. It rained a lot. But we should have been expecting it being in Wales.

moody mountains north wales

The mountains look so moody here. Bad weather sometimes makes nice photographs.

Maybe not ‘nice’ –interesting perhaps.

We went for walks up the mountain, in the woods and on the beach.

In the woods

These woods are one of my very favourite places to walk.

mum in the rain

Me and mum got soaked walking up the mountain. We could hardly even see the sea. And obviously as soon as we got back the rain stopped.

It wasn’t so bad though. What I’m really scared of is cold rain. I think winter may be horrible in Edinburgh. I’m supposed to be flying back on monday but we are forecast 80mph winds from the leftovers of the hurricane :s .

It was super windy when we went to the beach. I had to wear 2 coats but was still cold. We were nearly blown away. Even the dogs ears couldn’t stay down.

We were lucky enough to have one sunny day though. So we went to Porthmadog harbour.

We saw lovely boats.

Then we ate fish and chips by the lake with this as our view.

North Wales is lovely when the sun shines.

I love Doctor Who.

In Australia me and Ryan watched every episode of Doctor Who AND Torchwood.

There’s worse things to be addicted to.

At one of the weddings they had jars of sweeties you could help yourself to.

Best Idea Ever. So Yummy.

I haven’t taken any pictures this weekend though. But pinterest is always helpful.

I will leave you with this.

Today me and my Dad drove all the way to Wales to watch the Wales vs England rugby match. We parked at Ryan’s and we all got the train in together… The Valley Line… Full of red shirted welsh supporters…
We were the only English supporters on the train. And obviously I was wearing my brand new England rugby shirt, which I got the impression they really liked (It was bought for me by Ryan’s welsh parents after all –amazing gift).
I was booed!  2 little kids sat behind me on the train were booing me! I was going to boo back but realised I was clearly outnumbered by this train full of welshies. And I hear valley girls are scary and like to fight so thought it best not to cause any aggravation.
And then, when we finally got to the match, England lost. I was most disappointed. Wales hadn’t even been playing that well –the 1st half had 4% of play at their try line. I’m really not sure how they did it. Ryan was pleased though –he tried to cuddle me but I was having none of it. He even did the winner dance.
Look at his happy face

We did have a very nice time anyway though. Here are some pics for you.

I’m okay that we lost because I know exactly the reason why. I ignored a lucky sign. Yes it was my fault –again. It seems I didn’t leave that trait in Australia. We didn’t win because I didn’t sit in seat number 21. Even though I had the chance and had my 21 shirt on and am 21. I sat in the middle instead. There’s a moral here somewhere. Don ‘t Ignore Lucky Signs. I’ve entered the lottery though and put number 21 in so I think I can make up for it.

p.s. Do you like my shirt?

On the way home we definitely got lucky though. As we were approaching the bridge I looked across the channel and saw like a million balloons! It’s the Bristol Hot Air Balloon Festival you see.
Not even half of them!

Note the skilful in car photography –this was one of the lucky few photos that was not a bush, car, lorry or my Dad.

It was a good day. Even though we lost –we thought it was time we let Wales have a turn :).
