I’ve been having quite a Christmassy weekend. On Friday we went to Audrey’s to make a gingerbread house. It’s amazing.

We used the BBC Good Food recipe.

I love it. It was too pretty to eat though so we haven’t actually had any. We did eat some of the leftovers though and they were tasty :).

We got a little impatient with waiting for all the icing to set though so ended up having a first failed attempt at putting the roof on. It all worked out in the end though :). We just had to watch a little Children in Need first.

I’ve also been wrapping presents this weekend.

And then I made them into a display to make my room Christmassy…

I feel like I have to get Christmassy now or I’ll miss out on it in the panic of exams.

And as my last Christmas looked like this…

…I kind of feel like I haven’t had a proper Christmas in 2 years.

So I’m making the most of it!

And that was just up until Christmas! I can’t help but think my life was better then. When I finish uni I need to go somewhere hot, fast!

I keep seeing pictures from my friends who are still in Australia and they are making me so jealous. I need some summer sun! My skin has got far too pale :s .

The most exciting place I’m going anytime soon is Glasgow. Although I am quite excited as I am going on an actual ‘work trip’ to meet my new boss for the internship. It makes me feel important. Also I can go Christmas shopping there :D

It’s not all bad

I miss it loads.

I want to go back. I’m not keen on having to do my final year. It scares me. And I don’t know what to do next either. I took the entrance exam for medicine yesterday. It went okay. I’m not even sure if I want to be doing that though.

My plan is to apply for everything and see what I get into….and hopefully by then I’ll know what I want.

That’s the plan anyway.

Happy Visa Expiring Day

The Australian Winter
160_0063
Yes that is winter.
I wish the English summer would look a little more like that and less like this.

Too much grey.
I’m also craving one of these
slurpee
I wish 711 would come to the UK. These are so much better than slush puppies.

Yesterday I was working in the pub and I asked someone if they had a good day. Their reply was “I never have a good day”.
I miss those happy Ozzies.
And really all that was wrong with his day seemed to be that he was having his kitchen done (surely a good thing) and a lamp he ordered had not arrived.

I don’t understand people who are automatically grumpy.
They clearly need more things like these in their lives.

July 19, 2011

I’ve decided to start a new blog as A year in Australia isn’t exactly relevant now that I’m home. I started that blog when I moved to Australia for a year on a student exchange and was surprised how I was actually able to keep up with it. I’ve never been good at keeping a diary but always liked the idea of keeping a record of my life.So this is it.

My Happy Adventures.

I’m not too sure how often I will be updating this. Probably only when I do something interesting or find something interesting. We will see.
But, here is a lovely story to start with. So nice. Made me want to go whale watching again!
